What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Traditional Chinese medicine exists for more than 5000 years. It is essentially  a preventive and rehabilitative medicine. It balances and unclogs vital energy, restoring health and well being. It is composed by 5 branches: acupuncture, massage, dietetics, chikung, phytotherapy . During an appoitment each one of them is applied or suggested during . More and more people are turning to this medicine in order to find a solution to their mental and / or emotional problems or simply to prevent them.
What Happens at a TCM appointment?

Our Traditional Chinese Medicine appointments lasts approximately 1h30min. During the appointment a rigorous diagnosis is made,  including the observation of the tongue and pulse; followed by an acupuncture session; massage; food advise, phytotherapy and Chikung exercises if needed.

Gynecology in Traditional Chinese Medicine
The earliest written records of Gynecology in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) date back to the Shang dynasty (1500 to 1000 BC). During the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 220 AD), the gynecologist was referred to as "breast doctor".
The first gynecologists registered under this name were Yi Xu and Chun Yu Yan.
As a medical specialty, gynecology began in the Tang dynasty (618 to 907) and Song dynasties (960 to 1278). However, it is a subject that has been little explored by modern scholars until recently.
In the practice of modern gynecology, an in addition to the diagnosis of Chinese Medicine, Western tests results from blood, pap smear , mammography or ultrasound are used, so that we can treat in a more accurate and safely way conditions such as endometriosis, hemorrhagic cysts, fibroids and other only detectable by those means. 

What happens at an appointment of Ginecology in Traditional Chinese Medicine?

 An appointment of Ginecology in Traditional Chinese Medicine Is similar to the appointment of Traditional Chinese Medicine  (anamnesis, observation of the pulse and tongue) but with a greater focus on the  ​​gynecology issues, and observation of medical exams. The treatment includes: acupuncture; massage; food advise, phytotherapy and Chikung exercises when necessary.

Each appointment lasts aproximatly of 1.5h. The patient is not observed  internaly (vaginal canal) but might be asked to look outside the vagina if the problem is in that specific area.

Andrology in Traditional Chinese Medicine
The term Nan Ke refers to the knowledge in Chinese Medicine of the physiology of man as well as prevention pathology and treatment of male diseases.
It is one of the latest specialties of Chinese Medicine with approximately 40 years. Not because they did not treat andrological problems previously, but rather because they only started to have specialists in this area for the last 40 years.

What happens at an appointment of Andrology  in Traditional Chinese Medicine?

The appointment is similar to an appointment of Traditional Chinese Medicine  (anamnesis, observation of the wrist and tongue) but with a greater focus on ​​Andrologic issues as well as observation of medical exams.
The treatment includes acupuncture; massage; food advise, phytotherapy and Chikung exercises if necessary. Each appointment lasts 1.5h. The genital area is usually not observed unless the problem is external and in that specific area.
